 Elsa Martínez: “with 'El sueño de Ivan' Ciudad de la Luz enters the genre of family and andventure films”

• The film has a budget of 5.7 million euros of which more than 4.5 will have a direct impact on the Valencian Community
• Shooting will take more than 8 weeks between locations in the province of Alicante and Mexico
• Tornasol Films, Castafiore Films and the Mexican Cacerola Films are responsible for project


The general manager of Ciudad de la Luz, Elsa Martinez, attended the press conference presenting of the shooting of 'El sueño de Ivan' of the filmmaker Roberto Santiago. During the event the general manager has been accompanied by key members of the filmmaking team including the actors Oscar Casas, Antonio Resines, Demian Bichir, Ana Claudia Talancon, Carla Campra, Fergus Riordan, Sebastian Rivera and the executive producer Mariela Besuievsky from Tornasol films.

 Ciudad de la Luz general manager, Elsa Martínez, said that with 'El sueño de Ivan' Ciudad de la Luz enters the genre of family and andventure films for the first time.

"Thanks to the large number of shootings of international co-productions such as 'The Impossible' and 'The cold light of day', currently being filmed in our facilities, the studios have become a reference for both national and international productions "pointed out the CEO.


 Moreover, Elsa Martinez recalled that "with the shooting of this film the company Tornasol films has reached a total of 14 productions in our studios with a wide variety of genres and filmmaking styles."

Eight weeks in the Valencian Community

The shooting of 'El sueño de Iván' will spend over 8 weeks at different locations in the province of Alicante and Mexico, as well as on set in Ciudad de la Luz studios.

 The director Roberto Santiago, responsible for other important projects such as' The Longest Penalty Shot in the World 'or 'Road to Santiago', said "El sueño de Iván' is a comedy of adventure and football that has a group of children as main characters.

 ‘El sueño de Iván’ has a cast led by two Mexican actors Demian Bichir ('Enemigos íntimos',' Che ') and Ana Claudia Talancon ("Tear This Heart Out', 'Love in the Time of Cholera "). The film also counts with the presence of consolidated spanish actors like Antonio Resines ('Cell 211', 'Brain Drain'), Fernando Tejero ("Road to Santiago',' Chef's Special') and Ernesto Alterio ('The Widows of Thursdays', 'Rivales').

The rest of the cast is completed with the presence of a group of children. Oscar Casas ('The wolves', 'Aguila Roja') and actors from different nationalities like Carla Campra, Fergus Riordan and Sebastian Rivera, among others. 

A football story

The film tells the story of a worldwide soccer selection of children's that faces for the first time in history a selection of football world stars. This event, held to raise funds to help victims of a terrible earthquake occurred in Africa, will bring millions of people on their screens.

 ‘‘El sueño de Iván’ is a film for the entire family with action, humor, epic, friendship, fellowship, teaching, love, kisses, kicks, and some pain as acknowledged by the director Roberto Santiago.

More investment in the Valencian Community

Alicante's company Castafiore Films, Tornasol Films and Mexican production company Cacerola Films are responsible of Roberto Santiago's new film. The filming of 'El sueño de Ivan' has become the 51st production which takes place at Ciudad de la Luz.

The shooting of Roberto Santiago's film will represent a significant economic impact in the Region because more than 4.5 million euros of the 5.7 million budget will leave a direct impact on the Valencian Community. 

Production has made a total of 2,458 nights in hotels in several locations in the Region. To these benefits generated by the shooting we have to add the employment of  38 people who have been hired, including technicians and artists.

The project has also involved a total of 35 Valencian companies and a total of 1,350 extras have been hired .
