As of next week, the audiovisual complex, Ciudad de la Luz, in Alicante, is to host the filming of ‘Castillos de cartón’ by the director Salvador García Ruiz.
The new film by García Ruiz, director of ‘Mensaka’, ‘The Other Side’ and ‘Voices in the Night’, stars Adriana Ugarte (‘Doghead’), Nilo Mur (‘Melissa P’), Biel Durán (‘Salvador’) and the Mexican Cristian Magaloni (‘Ramírez’).
‘Castillos de cartón’ is a film based on the novel of the same name by Almudena Grandes, which tells the story of a group of young people who start their painting course at the Faculty of Fine Arts. Little by little, their friendship develops into a love triangle of sorts, that lasts until the end of the course when they have to face the problems of the real world.
Noticeable presence of actors from the Valencian Community
Besides being filmed on the sets at the Ciudad de la Luz and in various locations within the Community, Alicante and Valencia's contribution goes further still: There are a significant number of local actors in the film, who do not go unnoticed, such as Adán Rodríguez, Patricia Teruel, Lola Marcelli, Álvaro Aguilar, Toni Miso, Patricia Plaza, Fernando Ripoll, Diego Braguinsky, Javier Aguayo and Sergio Valiente.
‘Castillos de cartón’ is the fourth production to be shot at the audiovisual complex, after ‘Siete Minutos’, ‘Triage’ and ‘Mentiras y gordas’, as outlined in the agreement signed between the Ciudad de la Luz and the Tornasol production house last November. The Alicante-based Castafiore Films is the co-producer of the project.
