IVAC-Film Archive (Ricardo Muñoz Suay Valencian Institute of Cinematography)
PRESENTATION
The Ricardo Muñoz Suay Valencian Institute of Cinematography was created by law 5/1998, of 18 July, and incorporates the Valencian Autonomous Government´s Film Archive, founded in 1985.
The Film Archive was admitted as an associate of the FIAF —International Federation of Film Archives— in November 1989 and has been a fully-fledged member since 1995.
The IVAC-Film Archive brings together all material relating to film: on the one hand, taking on the funcions of a film library, such as conservation, restoration, cataloguing and and circulation of the cinematographic heritage and culture, and on the other, working to develop the existing protocols in creation, production and cinematographic and audiovisual training. With its creation, it has assumed responsibility for the announcement and delivery of aid to the Valencian audiovisual sector.
The Institute is named after the Valencian film maker, Ricardo Muñoz Suay, the founder and first manager of the Valencian Autonomous Government´s Film Archive.
