Media Desk Spain is one of the four information offices in Spain for the European Commission´s MEDIA Programme, a support programme for the European audiovidual sector under the authority of the Education and Culture Executive Agency.
MEDIA has a permanent support network made up of MEDIA Desks or Antenas throughout Europe which promotes the MEDIA Programme within the many participating States and regions, while also providing information and assistance to the professionals of film, television and the new technologies. The existence of this network guarantees the transparency of the MEDIA Programme, publishing the outcome of the company applications.
MEDIA Desk Spain has recently consolidated its activity within Spain by establishing a Private Cultural Foundation, with the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), the Management Body for the Rights of Spanish Audiovisual Producers (EGEDA) and the Federation of Spanish Audiovisual Producer Associations (FAPAE) as its patrons.
The MEDIA Programme is aimed at professionals and businesses within the audiovisual industry that have their headquarters in one of the European Union and European Economic Space member states, as well as those countries that fulfill the requirements set out in article 11 of Directive 200/821/CE (for MEDIA Training, article 8 of Directive 163/2001/CE).
