Theresa of Cepeda & Ahumada, the daughter of a gentleman from Avila, is dissatisfied with her supposed destiny: to marry a gentleman. She enters a cloistered convent and from those walls begins a crusade of prayer and sacrifice that converts her first into a rebel and a crazy, later a leader and finally a saint.
