Synopsis
Bennie Tetrocini comes to Buenos Aires to find his brother disappeared ten years ago. The young Bennie and his family (italian immigrants in Argentina) had moved to New York because of the success of Carlo, the father, a renowned symphony orchestra conductor.
When Bennie finally finds his brother, the brilliant and melancholic poet 'Tetro,' he realizes that he is the opposite of what he expected. Instead of being the wonderful brother who was the idol of his childhood, Tetro is now a distant and disappointed man who changed his name, wants nothing of his family, and no longer writes.
During the time he spends with his brother Bennie and his girlfriend, Miranda, the two relive the experiences of their stormy past and a terrible secret is revealed.
