The premiere of the film "His Majest Minor", filmed at the Ciudad de la Luz by director Jean-Jacques Annaud, took place on 10th December 2009 and was held in Alicante's Navas cinema. The French filmmaker has directed well-known films such as "Enemy at the Gates", "Seven Years in Tibet", "The Bear", "The Name of the Rose" and "Quest for Fire", among many others.
Besides the director himself, the preview was attended by the actors José García (Minor) and Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Karkos). José García, who has filmed at the Ciudad de la Luz once before for "Asterix at the Olympic Games", brings the main character to life in this satire, portraying about his transformation from pig-dweller to king of a Mediterranean island during the pre-Hellenic period. Sergio Peris-Mencheta, meanwhile, plays Karkos, a young and athletic poet that follows Minor on his journey.
